Southampton captain Jose Fonte is confident his side can turn around poor results against top teams and match it with the Premier League’s best after securing a “massive” victory against Everton.
Before the 3-0 win at St Mary’s on Saturday, Southampton had recorded five successive defeats in all competitions – their worst run in 14 years – including a dispiriting Capital One Cup exit to League One side Sheffield United.
